Thats Rosie and I on my 50th Year return to the Philipines.
McArthur did not take that long but his name is still revered
on the islands.
Now some trip take-a-ways:
Success was with a credit card. There was no need to worry about anything
trip travel cards and insurance. My thought was to carry cash and having it stolen
by screeners or police.
Foremost was having a valid passport to travel abroad .
I like to travel, be served and smiled at by hospitality staff. So I tip generously.
No Speak English,
That contradicts what I just wrote. Hospitality know your language.
Most anyone else does not .
Just when you think English and the dollar are dominate. Its otherwise.
Be prepared. How? Don't go it alone or not chaparoned. Thats it.
Some feel the need to "eye fish". Catch the eye and become acquainted "yanks"
Some don't. How many stories have you heard entertainers and the like have been
on the road and swept down by drugs and fast life style.Happens as fast as I snap my
fingers.
Who will chaperone the chaperone?
There was a story that circulated about a parent that boasted her son was being
specially acommodated to games and trips, when actually he was being abused.
So just do not trust everybody then you will not be surprised.
Where are the best spots to visit for travel?
Depends on your hot buttons.
I crossed the Pacific with 3500 other troops on a carrier ship.
The government paid for the trip. This time ,logistics where up to me.
Point is, my hot button is the Pacific.
Yours may be European interest.
If so, be ready for no speak English ,but Euros or French franks...etc.,etc.,
Anywhere where there is a U.S. presence, embassy, military base.
That sets up a climate for banking, communication and emergency relief.
No place is completely safe.
No body can you completely trust.
So,
Leave no stone unturned.
